Denver Broncos: Seven dream free agents team should sign
Rob Gronkowski
The tight end position is certainly one to monitor with the loss of Noah Fant in the trade of Russell Wilson to Denver. Fant was an underutilized player with the Denver Broncos in his tenure. It was last season where he lead the team in targets and close to 700 yards receiving. Fant is certainly capable of being a top tight end and hopes he can show that with the Seattle Seahawks in that timeline.
Speaking of timeline, it’s is hard to know of a timeline involving life without Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski still playing. Gronkowski has become one of the best players at the tight end position. He became a face child of this decade (well 2010) as an all-around tight end. Gronkowski is a tremendous blocker and a force of nature with the ball in his hands. There are not a lot of players who are that physical at the point of in fact. In a season of irony with Wilson coming to the Denver Broncos, it would also be ironic if Gronkowski (the player who has tortured the Broncos over the years) signs with them also.
A simple one to two-year deal is more than fair for a future hall of fame player in a Super Bowl window. Gronkowski is not seeking a five-year deal or a contract or one that is a final payday. There is not much to prove for a player like Gronkowski. The only thing standing in the way of Gronkowski is wanting to still play and choosing Denver. If Gronkowski also signs with the Denver Broncos, then that gives Denver a strong veteran to teach Albert Okwuegbunam the ropes of being a complete tight end. Okwuegbunam is a passing weapon for any quarterback. He is however not complete. The area he needs work on is from run blocking and possibly more pounds. This is the last area why Gronkowski makes sense.
