Denver Broncos: One free agent target from each NFC team
Denver Broncos: Free agents from the NFC North
Minnesota Vikings – Anthony Barr, LB
There are a ton of connections between the Minnesota Vikings and the Denver Broncos. George Paton was with the team for years, so he did help in drafting some of their current players.
One of those players is Anthony Barr, who has been one of the very best at his position since being drafted in 2014.
The linebacker has played in just 13 games the past two seasons, but is a three-time Pro Bowler and has good enough size to be able to come off the edge and provide a much-needed pass rush presence.
Chicago Bears – Andy Dalton, QB
Well, if the Denver Broncos don’t draft a quarterback, signing a high-quality veteran backup option like Andy Dalton makes a ton of sense.
Dalton is about as good as it can get in the “fringe starter/high-quality backup” category. He has years of starting experience with the Bengals and has appeared in the playoffs multiple times.
He has spent time with the Cowboys and Bears the past two seasons, playing occasionally.
Even with the trade for Russell Wilson, signing someone of Dalton’s caliber to be the backup could give the Broncos one of the most secure and overall talented quarterback rooms in the NFL.
Green Bay Packers – De’Vondre Campbell
Campbell enjoyed a career year with the Packers in 2021, earning an All-Pro nod highlighted by 146 total tackles and playing in 16 games.
Campbell has only missed one game since 2016 and was perhaps the best linebacker in the NFL this season.
He is probably going to be retained by the Packers, but if not, the Denver Broncos could sign him to shore up their linebacking core for the next few years.
Detroit Lions – Tyrell Crosby, RT
Crosby was a 5th round draft pick in 2018 and has played like a 5th round pick.
However, being in Detroit probably is not doing him any favors, so maybe being put in a more ideal situation in Denver could help him turn into a quality player.
He has starting experience at right tackle and is still just 26, so there is a chance he could turn into a long-term solution for the Denver Broncos.
