The Denver Broncos have found their guy at quarterback.

The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a trade that will send 9-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver in exchange for what is so far being reported as multiple first-round picks.

Negotiations between Denver and Seattle have seemingly been going on for weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Broncos began to get the feeling that Aaron Rodgers was not going to leave Green Bay, so they formulated a backup plan.

Russell Wilson comes to the team he beat in Super Bowl XLVIII

Wilson is of course no stranger to the Broncos, having helped orchestrate the 43-8 win the Seahawks had over Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. Since he came into the league as a third-round pick in 2012, he has been one of the league’s best quarterbacks.

The trade can not be made official until the start of the new league year next Wednesday and is pending Wilson’s approval and him passing a physical. Wilson does have a no-trade clause in his contract, but there is nothing to suggest that he’ll veto this move.

In his 10-year career in Seattle, Wilson has made the Pro Bowl nine times while winning 104 regular-season games and nine more in the postseason while taking the team to the Super Bowl twice.

He has completed 65 percent of his career throws while passing for over 37,000 yards and 292 touchdowns, by far all-time records for the Seahawks.

Drew Lock will be heading to Seattle

The complete particulars of this deal have yet to be made official, but it is being reported that the Seahawks are going to get Drew Lock from the Broncos. Lock will get a chance to continue his career with a new team and perhaps even be their starter in 2022.

Jacob Eason is the only other quarterback under contract on the roster.

Denver and Seattle play in 2022

And then there is the news that these two teams will play each other in the 2022 season so Wilson and Lock will be able to face their former teams in a game that will be filled with storylines.
