Denver Broncos 2022 mock draft, rounds 4-5

4. Tyler Allgeier, RB, BYU

There are plenty of Denver Broncos fans who woud like to see the team re-sign Melvin Gordon after two strong years with the team, but there are others that are against the idea completely.

You can always find capable talent in the NFL Draft at the running back position ready for NFL action, and one of the backs that is not getting nearly enough love in the 2022 class is Tyler Allgeier of BYU.

Just like Javonte Williams, Allgeier is a former linebacker who has brought his bruising style to the position and found ways to dominate after initial contact.

It would be fantastic to pair him up with Williams in Denver.

5a. Tariq Castro-Fields, CB, Penn State

The Broncos need to add some additional cornerback depth in the 2022 NFL Draft with players like Kyle Fuller and Bryce Callahan slated to hit free agency.

Even with Michael Ojemudia coming back healthy, the cornerback position depth has been tested consistently in recent years.

Tariq Castro-Fields had an outstanding Scouting Combine after a strong Senior Bowl week, and he has a lot of experience at Penn State.

5b. Tyler Badie, RB, Missouri

Two running backs on day three?

Absolutely.

If the Denver Broncos re-sign Melvin Gordon, maybe they won’t go overboard at the running back position, but I’m not sure how you can actually do that in this draft class.

There are so many intriguing options and on day three, I’m going to continue to be a huge proponent of the Broncos taking two backs until they don’t. I’m not sold on Mike Boone or any other options behind Javonte Williams at the present moment.

Tyler Badie is one of the top pass-catching backs in this class and would be an outstanding fit in this new offense.
