Denver Broncos: Three things team must avoid doing

3. Not investing more in the OL

The Denver Broncos need to invest more resources into their offensive line.  They were about average this season in almost every metric, so the unit as a whole is fine.

Teddy Bridgewater held the ball for too long, so the line looked worse than it actually was.

However, there is uncertainty with at least three positions along the line.

All of left guard, center, and right tackle could use some boosting.

The interior itself is in rough shape, in my opinion.  Quinn Meinerz looked the part at right guard and is in line to make a massive leap in 2022, but center Lloyd Cushenberry and left guard Dalton Risner have been inconsistent at best.

Factor that into guard Graham Glasgow and his return from injury as well.  Glasgow has not been great in his time with Denver.

Can he be relied upon to improve even after returning from a major injury?

As for right tackle, Bobby Massie played well, but he is not your 7-10 year solution.

I think re-signing Massie and drafting someone makes sense, but Denver has not taken a tackle in the draft since 2017, so they need to fix that.

Between the strong free agency pool of interior offensive linemen and the NFL Draft, Denver needs to invest both free agents and draft picks into this unit.

Look for Denver to acquire more athletic linemen who would excel in an outside zone scheme.
