Broncos trade with Rams: Justin Hollins, LB
The Broncos selected Justin Hollins with a fifth-round pick in the 2019 draft out of Oregon. They gave up on him too soon.
Hollins spent just his rookie season in Denver, collecting one sack in limited duty. The team waived him just ahead of the 2020 season and the Rams swooped in, claiming him on waivers the next day. In Los Angeles, he has registered five sacks in two seasons and has become a solid rotational pass-rusher for the team.
He can do the same thing coming back to Denver.
The Broncos have Bradley Chubb, Malik Reed and Jonathon Cooper, but with Chubb’s injury history, the team needs much more firepower in this department. Hollins would be a nice supplemental piece to add if the team is unable to hit on any of the bigger names in free agency.
It’s rare for players to return to teams that gave up on them, but if the Rams re-sign another former Bronco player in Miller, then the Broncos might check in to see what they are looking to get back for Hollins, who had a lot of promise when the team let him go.
