Broncos trade with Rams: Alaric Jackson, OT

Regardless of what the Broncos choose to do with pending free agent Bobby Massie, the team needs depth at the offensive tackle spot.

Alaric Jackson, another undrafted player, is an intriguing prospect.

Jackson was born in Canada before moving to the states and attending Iowa, a school known for producing offensive linemen. There, he was a four-year starter at left tackle and even earned starts ahead of current Tampa Bay Buccaneers tackle, and former first-round pick, Tristan Wirfs.

Jackson is not a refined prospect but he made the 53-man roster with the Rams after going undrafted and then spent a season on the same practice field with Andrew Whitworth and Rob Havenstein, two of the better offensive tackles in the league.

The Broncos could probably get him for a late-round pick depending on what the Rams have at that spot going into 2022. It seems likely that Whitworth will retire and Joseph Noteboom is scheduled to hit free agency.

The Rams will have Havenstein but the rest of the tackles on the roster, including Jackson, are all raw prospects.

If the Broncos could lure him away, he could develop in the team’s new offensive scheme and potentially be a darkhorse candidate to be a breakout player at some point down the line.
