Denver Broncos trade ideas with Green Bay Packers
Billy Turner, Offensive Tackle
We’ll start with a familiar face in Billy Turner.
Before signing with the Packers as a free agent ahead of the 2019 season, Turner spent three years with the Broncos, mostly as a reserve. In those three seasons, he made 11 starts for the Broncos in relief duty.
But the Packers signed him to have a bigger role in their offense and in three seasons with the Pack, he has logged 43 starts, becoming one of the more consistent members of the offensive line protecting Rodgers.
The Broncos could bring in Turner, a player familiar with Hackett’s offense, to take the place of Bobby Massie or at the very least, at more depth if the Broncos choose to bring Massie back.
Turner is still just 30 years old (while Massie is 32) and his familiarity with the organization and the incoming head coach makes this a deal worth considering.
The Packers would have options after moving Turner if they chose to do so.
They could plug Elgton Jenkins in at right tackle or re-sign Dennis Kelly, who made four starts for them this year. They also have 2021 sixth-round pick out of Wisconsin, Cole Van Lanen.
