Denver Broncos trade ideas with Atlanta Falcons

Kaleb McGary, T

The Kaleb McGary experiment in Atlanta hasn’t exactly gone the way they had hoped after drafting him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season, McGary allowed a whopping 13 sacks.  He’s been a bit better since then but hasn’t exactly taken the leap they had hoped.

Perhaps McGary could use a change of scenery?

He’s still on his rookie deal and probably could be had for rather cheap.

Looking at his stats, the one thing that sticks out to be is, according to ProFootballReference, McGary has only been called for one holding penalty his entire career.

To me, that’s an astounding accomplishment that new offensive line coach Butch Barry could hang his hat on.

The Denver Broncos obviously need to find a long-term right tackle solution, and who’s to say McGary couldn’t be that option?

McGary is also huge, he’d 6’6″ and over 300 pounds, so the size is there.  McGary hasn’t exactly been awful his past two seasons in Atlanta, but he’s a 6’6″ former first-round pick and has played in 46/49 career games.  Denver should take a chance on him.
