Denver Broncos trade ideas with Atlanta Falcons

Deion Jones, LB

Deion Jones was drafted in 2016 and instantly became an impact player for Atlanta, making the Pro Bowl in 2017 and quickly becoming one of the best linebackers in the game.

However, he was nothing short of awful in 2021 and has a $20 million cap number in 2021.

The Atlanta Falcons might be willing to move Jones for the right price (a mid-round pick?) and Denver should call.

Deion Jones won’t turn 28 until November and has played in 48/49 games the past three seasons, racking up 353 total tackles in that span.

He also has 8.5 career sacks, so he has some pass rush capabilities as well.

Jones is probably falling out of favor in Atlanta, and with the team set to be over the cap, they can free up almost $15 million by trading him, while incurring a bit over $5 million in dead money.

Trading Deion Jones might be worth it for Atlanta and would give the Broncos a solid starting pair, alongside Baron Browning.

With that said, I would love it if the team brought back Kenny Young and Alexander Johnson, but trading for Jones, for the right price might be the move for George Paton.
