Denver Broncos secondary targets

Quandre Diggs, SS

Could the Broncos find a Kareem Jackson replacement in Quandre Diggs?

Diggs, a two-time Pro Bowler, has spent the last three seasons with the Seahawks after five seasons with the Lions.

He’ll be a free agent this offseason and has a market value of about $12 million per season.  Denver could offer Diggs a similar contract to what they offered Kareem Jackson before the 2019 season.

Diggs is set to enter his age-29 season, so he isn’t young, but signing him for two or three years could be a wise decision, depending on how high they are on Caden Sterns, the rookie from Texas who saw limited action, but played well.

Kareem Jackson’s time in Denver was fabulous.  A very intelligent and hard-hitting player, finding a competent replacement for one of the better safeties in the NFL won’t be easy.  I would also love to think that Justin Simmons could have a bit of influence on who Denver could potentially sign to play beside him.

Simmons and Jackson were clearly the best safety duo in the NFL, so maybe Simmons sees a bit of Jackson in Diggs.

Denver could do what they did last year and add two pieces to the secondary.  The Broncos added Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby, so I have no reason to believe they won’t do something like that again.
