Carson Wentz

There has been some new information regarding Carson Wentz.  He was traded from the Eagles to the Colts before 2021 and reunited with Frank Reich in Indy.  While Wentz had a very solid statistical season, it was clear throughout his 2021 campaign that he has not been able to turn back to the Carson Wentz of old.

Reading various tweets, articles, and watching Wentz, it was clear that he was essentially being “babied” within the offense throughout the season.  His final two performances were a large reason why the Colts were not able to make the playoffs, even with a solid offensive line, great running game, and above average defense.

Apparently, Wentz’s future looks “bleak” in Indianapolis, and he’s likely to be traded or released next month.

Teams will give Wentz another chance.  His tools are among the best in the NFL, and he has solid evidence of being a franchise quarterback.  He may never return to his 2017 MVP form, but he can win games for a team with enough talent around him.

The Denver Broncos have talent on both sides of the ball, so should they target Wentz?

The Rest

The rest is referencing the low-tier players like Marcus Mariota, Andy Dalton, Jameis Winston, Teddy Bridgewater, among a few others.

There hasn’t been much news.  Some of these players will serve as 1-year bridge starters for the team.  The Denver Broncos figure to at least do their homework on some of these players if they plan on drafting a quarterback, but none of them should excite the fanbase.

As it stands now, that is the latest news on quarterbacks around the NFL.
