Denver Broncos QB option No. 8: Aaron Rodgers, Packers

Aaron Rodgers is now in his late 30s, but should that deter the Denver Broncos from going after him?

No.

Let’s make one thing crystal clear — if a player gives you a clear window to compete for a Super Bowl in the NFL, nothing else matters. You don’t make a move for Aaron Rodgers with the fear that you might need to search for a QB again in four years or five years.

Do you think the Buccaneers wish they could go back in time and re-sign Jameis Winston instead of sign Tom Brady? Absolutely not.

If you have a shot at getting in a championship window, you take it. Rodgers is the MVP of the league, and adding him to the other ingredients the Denver Broncos already have would undoubtedly result in Super Bowl contention.

As we’ve seen, nothing in the NFL is guaranteed, but if a door is opened to a possible Super Bowl, you sprint through it.

Rodgers’ future is in his hands. If he wants to play for the Denver Broncos, it will happen, regardless of the Packers’ wishes at this point.

Will he force his way out of Green Bay and into the Mile High City?

We’ll see.
