Broncos could gamble on DE Jermaine Johnson II

For teams looking for pass-rush help, this is a great draft to get it.

The top two prospects on most boards (Aidan Hutchinson and Kayvon Thibodeaux) are both big-time pass-rush prospects and then there are names such as David Ojabo and George Karlaftis.

All of these players could be great picks and some of them should even be available with the No. 9 choice. But lost in the shuffle is Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson.

Johnson is another player who was said to have shined down in Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl and his draft stock was already rising going in. But wouldn’t it be too high to take him in the top 10?

Perhaps not.

Johnson is one of the top athletes at any position in this draft class and he has the ability to be the overall steal of this draft. Though a team would have to be in love with him to take him at No. 9, there is plenty to love when you watch this guy play.

The Broncos need another player who can routinely put pressure on the quarterback and though arguments can be made that all of the players listed above are better options, arguments can also be made that Johnson is right there with them.

The team that takes this guy is not going to be disappointed.
