Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Stay away from this one with a 10-foot pole.

The idea of Cousins coming to Denver is a real one, and it makes perfect sense with George Paton’s connection with his old team. But since giving Cousins the monster contract ($84 million over three years) that they gave him back in 2018, the Vikings have won exactly one playoff game.

That’s a lot of money for such small results.

While Cousins is the most talented quarterback overall on this list, the Broncos can still find a better answer, even if that answer doesn’t come in 2022. Cousins still has two years left on his current contract with the Vikings and though they could save big money by trading him, they will be looking for a big return because his successor isn’t on the roster.

Unless you’re a believer in Kellen Mond.

Next. What should Broncos do with each of their free agents?. dark

If the Broncos want a guy who can post big numbers in garbage time and maybe even make some Pro Bowls, then Cousins is their guy. But if they want a guy who can get the team over the hump and make them a Super Bowl contender, there is no evidence whatsoever that Cousins would be that guy.
