Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers

Both Garoppolo and the 49ers seem to have a mutual understanding that the team is going to be moving on this offseason. The 49ers drafted Trey Lance in the first round of the most recent NFL Draft and he is the team’s future.

On top of that, if Garoppolo would have played better, the Niners are likely playing for, and possibly winning, the Super Bowl.

The Broncos were recently listed as one of the best potential fits for Jimmy G. but as discussed above, the Broncos are going to come up on every list in which there is a quarterback looking for a new squad.

The Broncos should pass, for more than one reason.

For one, the 49ers may want as much as a first-round pick for Garoppolo. Make another team pay that price for an average quarterback. He’s another stop-gap option that is going to come in and manage a game and be asked not to make too many mistakes. Basically, a younger Teddy Bridgewater.

Would I rather have Lock than Garoppolo? Yes.
