Teddy Bridgewater could have strong chance at starting for Washington Football Team.

The Washington Football Team started off the season with Ryan Fitzpatrick as its starting quarterback. That didn’t last long, however, as Fitzpatrick suffered a season-ending hip injury.

Washington then started Taylor Heinicke the rest of the season and finished 7-10 and in third place in the NFC East.

I doubt that Fitzpatrick, who is a free agent in 2022, will return to Washington, leaving Heinicke, Kyle Allen (restricted free agent), and Garrett Gilbert as the team’s quarterbacks.

Yikes.

Don’t be shocked if Washington drafts a quarterback to be its future. Bridgewater is not a quarterback that will be a team’s long-term guy. If he does sign with Washington, I do think he can win the starting quarterback job. It’s honestly just a matter of the team not having great options.

Depending on who the Washington Football Team chooses as its quarterback of the future, we could see Bridgewater serve as a backup role or a role that has him fill in and teach the young guys some things before handing over the job.

The NFC East is a division that is led by the Dallas Cowboys but not long ago, Washington won it with a losing record of 7-9. If Dallas has an off year in 2022, it’s certainly possible to see Washington make a jump with Bridgewater.
