2. Wide Receiver Brandon Powell a fit for the Broncos?

Brandon Powell, wide receiver and return specialist, is another name that could help the Denver Broncos. Maybe not so much in his receiving skills, but he is a backend roster guy that could come in and compete for the return job as Diontae Spencer looks to be moving on from the Denver Broncos in 2022.

This addition wouldn’t move the needle for anyone but could secure the Broncos into a solid return specialist who had six punt returns for 133 yards and a touchdown, while returning eight kicks for 208 yards with one long return for 65 yards.

Powell is quite the opposite of the typical George Paton addition if we are basing it off of his RAS score, posting an abysmal 2.48 relative athletic score. This combines measurable along with speed, strength, and agility.

For his stature, he isn’t what you would call a “burner,” posting a 4.59 forty-yard dash time. He is just 5-foot-8, 189 pounds, but he does possess the quickness and short burst that makes return specialists dynamic.

Just one day after Christmas, Powell gifted the Los Angeles Rams fans with a 61-yard punt return for a touchdown that vaulted them past the Minnesota Vikings. His best career as a wide receiver came with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020 when he hauled in 12 receptions for 69 yards but he caught two touchdown passes.

Brinigng in Brandon Powell would not be an eye-popping acquisition, but one that could boost a struggling special teams unit that is in need of trustworthy playmakers.
