Denver Broncos: Round 2
If the Denver Broncos do pass on a quarterback with their first pick, there could be intriguing options available in the second round. George Paton may also decide to go with the mid-level veteran route, and add additional forces along the offensive line.
The Denver Broncos hold the 40th overall pick, and an additional 2nd round pick from the Los Angeles Rams.
Daniel Faalele, T- Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 380 pounds, Faalele is a project tackle with ridiculous upside. Despite his size, Faalele has movement skills to work with and could be a player with developmental upside for Hackett to mold.
Zion Johnson, G- Johnson is a smooth mover out of Boston College and has a translatable game to the NFL. Johnson may not be available for the Broncos in the second round, but he could be someone to target if George Paton is looking to invest in the interior offensive line.
Trey McBride, TE- Tight end certainly isn’t a need for the Denver Broncos, with young players in Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam. However, McBride is a true difference-maker in the pass game and set records for his production in the passing game at Colorado State. McBride would help form a dynamic trio of tight ends and could see more pressing action if the Broncos decide to move on of their young tight ends.
Carson Strong, QB- Strong is one of the more polarizing prospects, as he has great size for the position and a rocket arm. However, a lingering knee issue will make Strong untouchable for some teams, and his lack of mobility outside the pocket could scare teams away. If the Broncos are looking for a true pocket passer, Strong should be high on their radar.
