A disappointing trade of Von Miller has turned into a Super Bowl appearance for the former Denver Broncos pass rusher.

Von Miller has a chance to earn another Super Bowl ring and maybe even a Super Bowl MVP award. The former Denver Broncos pass rusher is going to the Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Just before the 2021 trade deadline, the Broncos traded Miller to the Rams for second-and third-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. At the time, it hurt to see such an iconic person and player leave the franchise but the Broncos did him right in sending him to an obvious contender.

In eight regular season games with the Rams, Miller accumulated five sacks, 31 total tackles, and 12 tackles for loss. The Rams went 5-3 in the regular season since the trade went down and Miller made 12 tackles during the three preseason games that got the Rams to where they are now.

Miller went off against the 49ers on Sunday, recording five tackles, one sack, and three tackles for loss. He hit 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo twice in the victory.

Von Miller back to Denver Broncos seems less likely now

When the Broncos traded Von Miller to the Rams, it hurt Broncos Country for a while. Honestly, now that he is headed back to the Super Bowl, it hurts less because we should be happy for him because of the Rams’ success.

What we shouldn’t be happy about is that Miller’s success with the Rams pretty much makes his return to the Denver Broncos very unlikely. Whether there was a shot at that idea in the past or not, it pretty much has disintegrated.

I’m not sure that even with a potential Aaron Rodgers addition that he’d want to come back to Denver. It would depend on whether or not he believes the team is close enough to make a run at a championship.

The Broncos might be a couple of years away from contending, with a new head coach and currently no answer at the quarterback position. It’s awesome to see Miller have great success with the Rams. Here’s hoping that he can secure his second Super Bowl victory of his career.
