Denver Broncos trade ideas with the Vikings

2. Danielle Hunter, DE

Danielle Hunter has played in just seven games the past two seasons after missing just two games since being drafted in 2015.

If you forgot, Hunter is an elite pass rusher who racked up 54.5 sacks in his first 5 seasons.

Being injured the past two seasons is definitely a concern, but Hunter is still just 27 years old and would give the Broncos a nice pass rush boost, something they need to correct this offseason.

Hunter could be one of several Vikings causalities as they likely enter a bit of a rebuild.

I don’t think he would be cheap in a trade, but getting an elite pass rush is always worth it.

His cap number for 2022 is nearly $26 million, so I would assume the Broncos would want to extend him to reduce that number.

Imagine a defensive end tandem with Dre’Mont Jones and Danielle Hunter.  The Broncos are going to need to continually find ways to limit Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes, even with the potential addition of a quality quarterback, and Hunter’s pass rush skill set would greatly help.
