Denver Broncos mock draft: Rounds 4-5

This pick might rub some of you the wrong way, but we’re going with the best players left on the board at the time I’m on the clock, and Jeremy Ruckert represented that at this particular juncture.

It was shocking to see him still on the board in the 4th round, similar to how unexpected it was in 2020 to see Albert Okwuegbunam still sitting there as well.

Ruckert projects as an in-line tight end at the next level and again, with the theme of keeping the running game progressing moving forward, he could be a nice addition.

Noah Fant still has a couple of years left on his contract, as does Albert Okwuegbunam. Still, you’re only one injury away and Ruckert’s size, strong hands, and ball skills make him a very attractive option here.

Leo Chenal is a monstrous, 260-pound off-ball linebacker who racked up 115 tackles this past season for Wisconsin, including a whopping 18.5 tackles for loss. He added eight sacks and can play all over the defensive formation, excelling as a blitzer.

It would be surprising if he didn’t shoot up the draft boards between now and the Draft itself, but here in round five, the Broncos get themselves a guy who could legitimately contribute right away to the defense.

Speaking of guys who could contribute right away, I love the idea of doubling up at the running back position in this particular draft class, and I think whoever gets Brian Robinson Jr. is going to be very happy with their investment.

He might be the most underrated Alabama running back coming out since I can recall.

Robinson’s physicality will help the Broncos have a weekly appearance on Kyle Brandt’s Angry Runs segment.
