Trade Packages for 2022 Quarterbacks

3. Matt Ryan and Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings

These two, in my opinion, would be decent consolation prizes if the Broncos cannot land Rodgers or Wilson.

I’d prefer Cousins, but both players would present considerable upgrades over what we’ve had.

The other positive thing about this is that neither will cost a lot; so the Denver Broncos will not only be able to keep most of their draft picks, but these trades still allow them to draft a future quarterback and still enjoy efficient QB play to help them get back to AFC relevancy.

Kirk Cousins will cost more.  Matt Ryan will be 37 when the 2022 season began, so he’s a 1-3 year option, at most.

Cousins could realistically man the position longer, but I’m not sure George Paton would envision that happening.

For Matt Ryan, I think a 2022 2nd, 2022 4th, and 2022 5th honestly might get the deal done.  Ryan’s value probably isn’t super high, so the Broncos could take advantage of that.

For Kirk Cousins, I think it’ll take a bit more capital to get the deal done.

The Broncos have two 2nd round picks and two 3rd round picks in the 2022 Draft.

They acquired a 2022 2nd and 2022 3rd from the Von Miller trade, and if they give the Vikings their own 2022 2nd and 3rd, they would still have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick.

I think this is a great deal for the Broncos, as they acquire a very good quarterback and are still able to keep their draft picks to further build the team for the long term.

So, Broncos Country, which quarterback of these four do you want?
