Trade Packages for 2022 Quarterbacks

2. Russell Wilson, Seahawks

Russell Wilson could also be on the move.  Seattle suffered their worst season of the Wilson era, and it appears there might be a divide between Wilson, Pete Carroll, and the Seahawks front office.

Sure, they can fire Pete Carroll, but they should have done that already, as teams have begun interviewing head coaching candidates.

Would Russell Wilson really be open to wanting to continue to play for Carroll, whose team philosophy is much different than what Russell Wilson desires?

Especially after a lost season, Wilson might want to jump ship.  We also must consider that the Seahawks need a lot of help with their roster.  Their offensive line is bad, their weapons aren’t great outside of D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, and their defense is bad.

Does Russell Wilson really want to be here for a mini-rebuild?  I’m not so sure.

The Broncos would have to compete with other teams to acquire his services, and the trade package might be even bigger than it would be to acquire Aaron Rodgers.  How about this package to land Mr. Unlimited?

  • 2022, 2023, 2024 1st round picks
  • 2022, 2023 2nd round picks
  • Quinn Meinerz

This package might be enough to land Russell Wilson.  It will cost a large amount of draft capital, as Seattle needs to restock their draft pick cupboard after trading their entire franchise for Jamal Adams, who hasn’t been that good for them.
