Broncos FA who should stay no. 2: Bobby Massie, RT

I freakin’ love Bobby Massie.  He finally brought some much-needed stability to the right tackle position.  He was brought over as a free agent after Ja’Wuan James tore his Achilles last offseason.

He held his own and ended up grading very solidly, according to PFF.

Massie can slide in as the starter again for 2022, along with a draft pick to hopefully develop on the side.

Massie won’t be expensive, either.  He won’t command high-end money, and he and his wife have an infant, so perhaps they are not wanting to move with a young child at home.

Family aside, Massie is a solid right tackle and should return to the Denver Broncos.

3. Josey Jewell, Alexander Johnson, and Kenny Young LB

Why not bring back all three players, who have all shown solid ability at the linebacker position?

I have seen mock drafts being floated around that project the Denver Broncos to take a linebacker higher in the draft, and I do not think we need to do that.

Many saw the rise of Josey Jewell within Fangio’s defense, so it’s worth wondering if he can excel under the new regime.

Both Alexander Johnson and Kenny Young are athletic playmakers who provide a higher than average upside at the position, and with the linebacker shortage in the NFL, it would be wise if George Paton brought at least two of these players back, regardless of who the next head coach is.

George Paton has made it known that he desires a strong team from top to bottom with great depth, and re-signing a few linebackers makes a lot of sense to continue that.
