After the Miami Dolphins shocking the world Monday morning with the firing of Brian Flores, George Paton and the Denver Broncos should make him the top candidate for the head coaching job.

After multiple reports coming out on NFL Black Monday 2022, the Miami Dolphins decided to fire Brian Flores after back-to-back winning seasons with an organization that hasn’t had that since 2002-2003.

With the Denver Broncos recently firing Vic Fangio on Sunday morning, George Paton has a pivotal decision to make that will shape the future of the Broncos.

The top names we here regarding the Denver Broncos search in head coaches are Dan Quinn and Nathaniel Hackett, just to name a couple.

After what the Dolphins just did, Paton should 100% pursue Flores as a top candidate in his search for head coach.

NFL Black Monday 2022: Why Brian Flores should be the top candidate for the Denver Broncos:

Flores was introduced as the Dolphins head coach in 2019 and he was tasked to bring a winning culture to an organization that hasn’t won in three decades. The organization has been dysfunctional for years and it was a hard ask for a first-time head coach to change things around in Miami.

Nonetheless, Flores did exactly that.

In his first year with the Dolphins, he went 5-11 while finishing last in the AFC East. This was the year he took the time to establish a culture around the locker room. The Dolphins did not have a great roster either at the time.

The following year, general manager Chris Grier decided to take Tua Tagovailoa over Justin Herbert as their franchise quarterback. It was an upgrade from what they had the previous year while adding a bit more talent. Flores went 10-6 while barely missing the playoffs, including the disaster that was happening between the offensive coordinator and the quarterbacks at the time. He won with his defense and stuck to his plan.

This year, Flores had another winning season, making it back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in Miami since 2003 with a record of 9-8. With the roster he was provided this year, even so with Tagovailoa as his quarterback, Flores still managed to overcome all of that and have a winning season.

So why Flores to Denver?

The things he did with the abysmal roster he had in Miami was impressive. Flores will be walking into a team here in Denver that is ready to win, with talent across the board.

If you were to compare both rosters, Denver is far and beyond more talented with what Flores had in Miami, making his job a lot easier. If he can have success in Miami like that, imagine what he can do with a roster like this?

There also has been recent reports that the players in Miami didn’t want to play for Flores anymore. This comes after they fired him Monday morning. While that rumor isn’t quite true, many people still raise awareness about this.

It doesn’t seem like that though. The players loved Flores and were heartbroken to see him leave after what he has done.

Who’s the real toxic one? Is it the coach that has winning seasons with an organization that doesn’t have that much talent or the owner and GM who have made the Dolphins a losing organization for 20 years? And now the owner fired him and making him look like bad? Something doesn’t add up.

Anyways, Flores being available after what he has done is crazy, to say the least. Paton and the Broncos should consider him as a top candidate. Keep in mind that Flores also interviewed for the Broncos’ job back in 2019.

A great defensive coach with also being a players coach is something that Paton should want. The culture will be a great one with him and the foundation is already set with the players. He is well respected around league circles and it only makes sense for him to be the top candidate for the Broncos.

As George Paton starts to begin his search for the new head coach in Denver, Flores should be on top of his list with the others like Quinn and Hackett.
