1. Teddy Bridgewater, quarterback

At this point in time, it appears abundantly clear that if there is one offensive player who almost certainly will not be back in 2022, it’s Teddy Bridgewater.

Statistically, you could look at Bridgewater’s 2021 campaign with the Denver Broncos and see what many are calling the best season for a QB the Broncos have had since Peyton Manning.

That’s not really saying a whole lot, and the eye test over the course of the 2021 season will tell you that Bridgewater was not a conduit for any sort of offensive success for the Denver Broncos at all.

Bridgewater played a few really solid games for the Broncos and a lot of below-average games at best, some clunkers at worst.

Although the Broncos pitched Bridgewater as an option at the position who could protect the ball, he did so at the expense of offensive success in the form of three-and-outs, ultra-conservative decisions on third downs, and more sacks taken than necessary.

Bridgewater’s 14 games with the Denver Broncos represented no true growth for the offense in really any area, which has made the decision to start him over Drew Lock in the first place feel extremely pointless.

It’s safe to say the Denver Broncos will be moving on in 2022.
