9 and 10. Caden Sterns (S) and Michael Ojemudia (CB)

With Kareem Jackson landing on injured reserve to finish out the 2021 season and both starting outside cornerbacks Ronald Darby and Patrick Surtain II considered questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, we could see a lot more Caden Sterns and Michael Ojemudia.

Sterns, specifically, will be exciting to see play a big role against a team like the Chiefs. The Broncos will need their communication on the back end of the defense to be on point in a game like this, which the Chiefs are obviously going to be trying hard to win because of playoff seeding.

With that in mind, the pressure is on Sterns to prove to the front office that he can step up in a big situation like this one and play in tandem with Justin Simmons for the foreseeable future.

Likewise, a player like Michael Ojemudia who just saw his first action of the 2021 season last weekend is getting the opportunity to remind everyone that he was not picked in the third round for no reason.

Ojemudia was a primary starting outside cornerback in 2020 and he obviously had a season full of mixed results.

Ojemudia is an outstanding tackler at the position and he was turning heads at training camp with the opportunities he was given.

Coming back from injury, expectations should be tempered, but it will be fun to get to see him finally get a shot this season with question marks about whether the team will bring back Kyle Fuller and/or Bryce Callahan in 2022.
