5 (and 6). Bradley Chubb and Jonathon Cooper, EDGE

A week without the Broncos’ top three edge rushers was…something.

After the team traded Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams, it was clear that they were going to rely more on young guys along with Bradley Chubb, who was on IR at the time of the trade, to pick up the slack.

Even though I think everyone would agree that the Broncos’ sack production off the edge needs to be better, Chubb had been making some really nice progress coming back from that ankle procedure that put him out for a couple of months.

It feels like the interception he had against the Raiders and almost returned for a touchdown was like two months ago, doesn’t it?

Chubb and rookie Jonathon Cooper were both on the COVID/reserve list last week for the Broncos but they should be back against the Chiefs, and it will be fun to see those two try and get after Patrick Mahomes again.

To see them make more strides to close out the season would be great for Broncos Country, given that the EDGE position is considered an area the team really needs to look into upgrading in the 2022 offseason.
