Thanks to about a month straight of being used correctly, Noah Fant will hopefully end the 2021 season with a yards per reception average in the double digits. Heading into Week 18 NFL action, Fant is averaging 9.8 yards per catch and over the last month, he’s been making way more plays than we have seen for the majority of the season.

Why?

Again, the correlation between Drew Lock being in the lineup cannot be ignored.

In the last four games, Fant is averaging 13 yards per catch, and last week against the Chargers, Fant was one of the only bright spots for the Denver Broncos with six receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown.

The game that Fant had against the Chargers had a little bit of everything — he was able to gain yards after the catch and he was targeted in the red zone. One time, he was even targeted just outside the red zone for what almost turned into a touchdown as well.

Fant’s performance in Los Angeles was more in line with what we had all hoped to see from him all season. He has been one of the Broncos’ most consistent offensive weapons this season, believe it or not, and he’s fixing to finish the 2021 season with the team lead in receptions.

He currently has 67 catches this season, 10 more than Courtland Sutton, who is second on the team in that category.

More opportunities for Fant against the Chiefs would be fun to see, especially if those opportunities include YAC potential, or if they come in the red zone.
