The Denver Broncos are set to start Drew Lock in their season finale with Teddy Bridgewater still in concussion protocols.

The scary hit that Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater took a couple of weeks ago ultimately will cost him the rest of the 2021 season. Drew Lock is scheduled to start in Bridgewater’s place against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.

The hit that Bridgewater took against the Cincinnati Bengals knocked him out and forced him to get taken off the field on a stretcher immobilized. No matter how you feel about Bridgewater as a quarterback, it’s scary to see anybody getting removed from the field in that way.

Lock suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers and missed just three snaps before re-entering the game. The injury was to his left shoulder, so he and the team must have felt it was not significant enough to keep him out for the remainder of the game—especially with a chance at the playoffs on the line.

There are two questions that remain in regards to the quarterbacks, and they have to do with each of the quarterbacks mentioned above. Has Teddy Bridgewater played his final game with the Denver Broncos? Has Drew Lock done enough to convince the team to keep him around?

I feel as if there is still a chance that Lock will be with the team in 2022. I don’t think that he’ll end up being the starting quarterback but that will depend on the team’s plan and who they end up acquiring or signing.

Both Lock and Bridgewater showed some promise in the preseason but the team has continued to struggle against contenders. They did beat the Dallas Cowboys earlier this year, but that’s just one game. They’ve been unable to consistently win.

Change is coming to the Denver Broncos in 2022. We’re not entirely sure what those changes will be as of yet, but something tells me they will be significant changes.
