3. Bryce Callahan, cornerback

One of the first players to follow Vic Fangio from Chicago to Denver after he was hired by the Broncos in 2019 was cornerback Bryce Callahan.

Callahan was once an undrafted free agent out of Rice who made a name for himself with the Bears dominating as a nickel cornerback, and he’s done much of the same with the Broncos…when healthy.

Unfortunately, keeping Callahan on the field has been easier said than done. When he does play, Callahan has been as-advertised. He’s an outstanding nickel cornerback and in 2020, he also proved he could play on the outside at a high level.

If Vic Fangio moves to another team, Callahan is a player who has a ton of experience in the Fangio defense who can not only excel in it with a new NFL franchise but can also help other players get acclimated to it as he has done in Denver.

Callahan’s future with the Denver Broncos may not be directly tied to Fangio as the Broncos could hire someone who will run a similar type of defense, but you can’t help but wonder if Fangio leaves whether Callahan would follow him since he’s slated for free agency anyway.
