Vic Fangio seems to be on his way out as head coach of the Denver Broncos, but what other landing spots could Fangio end up at beginning in 2022?

However we all feel about Vic Fangio, it’s clear that his job as head coach of the Denver Broncos is currently unknown, to say the least.  Fangio is in his third year, and while the team isn’t bad, they’re not quite where they’re expected to be.

The Broncos aren’t a total mess, and Vic Fangio is certainly not the worst head coach out there right now, but Fangio’s time in Denver is surely coming to an end.

Vic Fangio is a football nut, and it’s about 100 percent guaranteed he’ll remain in the NFL next season, most likely as a defensive coordinator.

Below, I will break down various landing spots for Vic Fangio, beginning in the 2022 season.

2022 Landing Spots for Vic Fangio

1. Head coach, Denver Broncos

I suppose there’s always a chance Fangio stays put. If this is the case, the Broncos would have to clinch a playoff berth, and probably have to win a playoff game.  While this isn’t likely, it’s still possible.

I’ve toyed with scenarios that have Fangio remaining as head coach in 2022.  One such scenario is hiring Darrell Bevell as offensive coordinator, and making a trade for Russell Wilson.  Bevell and Wilson have worked together from 2012-2017, so the reunion would make sense.

Even if that isn’t the exact scenario, I’m sure George Paton is keeping this door slightly open, even if it’s mostly closed.

In fact, I would not bank on Fangio remaining as head coach, but again, it can still happen.
