The Denver Broncos have two regular season games left and only a sliver of hope for the playoffs. Which head coach candidates should be on the radar?

With two regular season games left, the Denver Broncos are about as disappointing of a 7-8 team as it gets, aren’t they?

With only two games remaining and the chances of this team going to the playoffs dwindling by the day, Broncos Country understandably has one eye on the future, starting with who will be the team’s head coach in 2022?

As of right now, it feels less and less likely that it will be Vic Fangio, but time will tell. Fangio has gone on record that he is not worried about his future and that he believes he and his assistants should be back in 2022. According to Mike Klis, Fangio said he would coach the 2022 season without a contract extension.

Ultimately, George Paton has to do what’s best for the Denver Broncos, and it’s hard to see a future with Pat Shurmur on the coaching staff. If that’s something Fangio will insist on, it could wind up being a deal breaker.

So which possible head coach candidates should you have on your radar as of right now?

Let’s take a look at a handful of names that are already popping up for interview requests around the league, and some that the Denver Broncos would be wise to look into as soon as they have clarity about their intentions going forward.
