Can Kirk Cousins help save the Denver Broncos in 2022?

Landing a big fish at the quarterback position is not uncharted waters for George Paton.

Think what you want about Kirk Cousins, but in the 2018 offseason, he was the biggest quarterback to hit free agency in quite some time after getting franchise tagged in consecutive offseasons by Washington.

The Vikings signed Cousins to a contract that was basically fully guaranteed in the 2018 offseason and they’ve since re-signed him. Since Cousins became the quarterback of the Vikings, they’ve done a lot more than the Denver Broncos have in terms of winning football games.

He may not be everyone’s favorite option, and he may only really be a “Plan B” type of option compared to some of the other guys on this list, but if the Vikings choose to move on from Cousins, a pairing with someone from the Shanahan or McVay coaching tree could be a really slick move for the Denver Broncos.

Cousins has proven, at the very least, that he can get star receivers involved in the offense and put points on the board.
