2. More routes going vertical instead of horizontal

Usually, the great NFL teams that make the postseason always have their best players in motion and go vertically with their routes.

For example, Davante Adams with the Packers. Adams is constantly in motion with Aaron Rodgers delivering him dimes. Having your best player in motion is always good, but they have to be going vertically and not horizontally.

Whenever the Broncos motion Jeudy over and Teddy takes the snap, almost every single time, Jeudy is on a flat route. He is always in the flat while the other receivers are running vertically. Courtland Sutton should always be running vertically as well but Jeudy is already one of the best route runners in the league and Shurmur has him going in motion just to stand in the flat.

Not only will it help the quarterback determine the coverage on the field, but Jeudy running a spear route or even a slant route when going in motion will do this offense more justice.

It’s getting to the point that many people are forgetting how good Jeudy really is. That is how you know it’s bad and how he gets mismanaged in this offense, unfortunately.

Shurmur can’t have his most explosive and arguably best receiver just hang out in the flat after he goes in motion. It’s inexcusable.
