Denver Broncos land Aaron Rodgers in trade before this 7-round mock draft
Daniel Barker, TE, Illinois
The numbers of Illinois tight end Daniel Barker are not going to jump off the page. He only has 64 career receptions at the school. But of those 64 catches, 11 of them resulted in him being in the end zone.
The Broncos have Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam, so tight end is not a glaring need, but one who can block and be an option in the red zone is something the Broncos could use more of and Barker might be an upgrade over Eric Saubert.
This would actually be a fantastic pick if the Broncos could make it in the sixth round. Barker would almost instantly be the best run-blocking tight end on the roster and his potential in the passing game was never really realized at Illinois because his number was not called that often due to the type of offense they run there.
But Barker could be a guy that sticks around the league for a decade because of all the little things he does right and when called upon, could make big plays for his quarterback as well, especially down inside the red zone.
