Denver Broncos MVPs through 13 games
3. Justin Simmons, S
I was actually going to give this last MVP to Patrick Surtain, but I think Justin Simmons is the right choice here.
Simmons is continuing his dominance at the safety position. He’s set to play a full season for the 4th straight year and has yet another year with at least four interceptions.
In fact, Simmons is tied for third in the NFL with five picks. His impact on the field goes beyond the stat sheet, as Simmons is the leader of the defense and face of the franchise.
He has been a part of several elite secondaries and appears to be getting better as he gets older.
Simmons is an excellent tackler, great in coverage, is a ballhawk, and stops the run like a defensive tackle.
I really struggle to find a weakness in his game. His straight-line speed isn’t great, but has that really affected his performance on the field?
7 Denver Broncos free agents and others who won’t be back in 2022
The Denver Broncos have a handful of important free agents on expiring contracts and other players who will not be back in the 2022 offseason.
Justin Simmons is by far the best safety in the NFL. He’s one of the most talented defensive backs in the NFL and is, yet again, a huge reason for the team’s defensive successes.
