Denver Broncos MVPs through 13 games
2. Javonte Williams, RB
Javonte Williams is already a stud. The rookie out of UNC has taken the league by storm this year, being constantly featured on Good Morning Football’s Angry Runs segment.
Even while splitting snap counts and carries with Melvin Gordon, Williams is on pace for 972 rushing yards and has already eclipsed 1,000 scrimmage yards.
He’s doing this all on a 4.8 yards per carry average, which is great for a veteran running back, let alone a rookie running back.
Williams has brought a different dimension to the rushing attack, shedding tacklers at the highest rate in the NFL, and being an improved pass-catching back.
Williams has allowed the Broncos to run the ball at a more efficient rate and tire out defenses. Melvin Gordon is very good himself, but adding Williams to the fold gives the Denver Broncos perhaps the best running back duo in the NFL.
I do not believe the Broncos should re-sign Melvin Gordon, as I think Javonte Williams can have a monster career in Denver.
Williams is truly a complete back. He’s great running the ball, has shown promise as a receiver and is excellent in pass protection.
Javonte Williams has been one of the best rookies in the NFL this season and has been very valuable for the Denver Broncos.
