Denver Broncos bold prediction vs. Lions: Defense picks off three passes

The last couple of weeks, the Denver Broncos defensive backs have been getting their hands on the football.

Patrick Surtain obviously has three picks in the last two games, Justin Simmons has been really close to a couple, Nate Hairston almost had one against the Chargers, and the opportunities will be there against Detroit.

As well as Jared Goff has played the last couple of weeks, he has been taking more sacks the last month or so compared to earlier in the season when he was throwing more picks.

Three interceptions would be a season-high for Goff, but the Broncos’ defense is capable of forcing that issue.

Goff has just seven interceptions on the season, so for all his faults, it’s not like he’s been throwing the ball into harm’s way at a high rate, but in addition to those seven interceptions, he’s got six lost fumbles.

One way or another, the Broncos are likely to force at least one turnover against Goff, because at this point he’s averaging one per game.

If the offense can get an early lead and force the game into Goff’s hands, they might be able to throw a pick party.
