The Denver Broncos have a big game coming up on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. What needs to happen to get back on track and rebound after a loss?

The Denver Broncos suffered a very tough loss against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13 action, but they have a chance to rebound and get back above .500 against the now 1-10-1 Detroit Lions.

The Lions have been scrappy this season, and in addition to winning their latest game, they have held their opponent to 16 or fewer points in three of the last four games they’ve played.

Dan Campbell has his group playing hard, but with their first win in the rearview, most expect things to come crashing back to earth for Detroit. Still, the Broncos absolutely cannot afford to take this game lightly. This is a must-win as the team has talked about every week being a “playoff” game from here on out.

Denver Broncos need to get back on track vs. Detroit — Here’s how

1. Teddy Bridgewater completes 80 percent of his passes

The Denver Broncos have run extremely hot and cold this season.

They opened the year with three straight wins, only to follow that up with four straight losses. They absolutely dominated the Dallas Cowboys only to get blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles at home.

They looked like a playoff team against the Chargers only to look like total duds against the Chiefs.

Similarly, Teddy Bridgewater will look good one week, and then the next week he can be the reason the team loses. It’s part of the reason he probably won’t be back with the team in 2022.

Against the Detroit Lions, I’m predicting a big-time bounce-back for Teddy after arguably his worst performance of the season against the Chiefs.

In some of the games against bad teams early this season, Bridgewater hovered just under an 80 percent completion rate. After completing just 55 percent of his throws against the Chiefs with a couple of bad interceptions, Bridgewater shreds the Lions’ defense with efficiency. He may not take a lot of shots downfield, but I think we’ll see him move the ball effectively this weekend.
