Denver Broncos 2022 QB Scenario #2 – Dump Bridgewater for a Different Veteran

I do not think this will happen, but given the Broncos’ history, it could.

In this scenario, the team moves on from Teddy Bridgewater but acquires a veteran quarterback who might present a higher upside.

I’m not talking about someone like Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers (yet), but I’m talking about someone a tier or two below them, like a Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, or Jimmy Garoppolo.

Heck, we could even throw Marcus Mariota into this list.

These quarterbacks, like Teddy, present desirable qualities, but most have not looked like true franchise quarterbacks.

Of the ones I just listed, they all have a higher ceiling than Teddy, so I think there is an argument to move off of Teddy in favor of one of these guys.

The Broncos could still draft a quarterback in this scenario, but the team would simply bank on a different veteran to get more out of the offense.

Or, if they wanted to get even more freaky, try to pair a veteran quarterback not named Teddy with a rookie draft pick who shares similar qualities.

George Paton does not strike me as someone who would do this, but again, it’s possible.
