Denver Broncos 2022 QB Scenario #3 – Teddy Bridgewater and a draft pick

This is a very possible scenario–where the Denver Broncos retain Teddy Bridgewater, presumably on a one-year deal, and try to find a long-term option in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Names to keep an eye on for the quarterback class include Kenny Pickett, Carson Strong, Malik Willis, and Matt Corral.

There hasn’t been a QB who has cemented himself as the top guy, but each quarterback listed has very desirable qualities.

In this scenario, Teddy is retained as the starter, as the rookie draft pick, ideally sits behind Bridgewater until the coaching staff deems him ready.

Teddy has largely taken care of the football and is mostly efficient, so I think we could see better QB play from him if he gets 2022 to continue to develop within the offense.

George Paton will also presumably re-sign some of the team’s pending free agents, and perhaps use the projected $50 million in cap space to acquire more talent.

This isn’t a bad scenario, in fact, it’s what the New England Patriots planned on doing until they realized how far ahead Mac Jones was in his development.
