Round 5, Pick 142 – Cole Turner, TE Nevada

The Denver Broncos keep adding offensive weapons in this mock draft. Cole Turner is a fun tight end prospect that would add another athletic, explosive tight end to the Denver Broncos’ offense. Noah Fant has struggled to come into his own this season and Albert Okwuegbunam has emerged as the better of the two.

Eric Saubert offers very little in the offense, so adding another tight end to the mix could benefit Turner. Like Albert O, Turner’s size and speed make him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.

Round 5, Pick 157 – Bailey Zappe, QB Western Kentucky

I heard the Denver Broncos needed a franchise quarterback? Well, unfortunately, there isn’t one in this draft and their “franchise” guy is currently playing on another NFL team. However, the backup position is a fun one for mock drafts.

Drew Lock has been awful in his relief appearances and the team is likely going to move in a different direction this offseason. Picking Western Kentucky’s Bailey Zappe gives them a backup option and possible future spot starter who consistently makes good decisions with the ball. I’d love to see what Zappe could do in a Broncos uniform.

Round 7, Pick 236 – Shaun Jolly, CB Appalachian State

An older cornerback prospect, Appalachian State’s Shaun Jolly could be an addition to the Denver Broncos cornerback room. He offers decent coverage skills but offers a lot in run defense with sound tackling.

However, his size likely limits his role to a nickel or dime corner, pitting him against the likes of Essang Bassey and Duke Dawson. His best way to get time on the field would be through special teams.
