Denver Broncos: 7-Round Mock Draft Going into Week 14
Round 3, Pick 88 – Kyren Williams, RB Notre Dame
We all know that Javonte Williams is the future of the running back position for the Denver Broncos. In his first career start against the Chiefs, he showed why he should’ve truly been considered as the best running back in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Backup running back Mike Boone also had a great showing in his first real action of the season, averaging 8.8 yards per carry. This showing by the running back group has shown us that Melvin Gordon will probably not be back in 2022, despite him still being one of the best offensive producers for the Broncos.
To continue to add to the Broncos’ offense, snagging Notre Dame’s Kyren Williams in the third looks like another Paton draft steal. He offers plenty as an aggressive downhill runner, as well as support in the passing game. Not to mention, he’s also a smart and physical pass blocker, something the Broncos require out of their running backs.
If the Broncos can manage to snag Williams to join Javonte, you can expect to see the Angry Run Scepter in Denver quite a bit in 2022.
Round 4, Pick 116 – Zay Flowers, WR Boston College
“The Denver Broncos have enough receivers” is something I don’t want to hear about anymore. In today’s NFL, you really can’t have enough. While the Broncos did manage to lock down both Tim Patrick and Courtland Sutton, something we had a hard time conceiving was possible, injuries have hurt the wide receiver room for the team.
K.J. Hamler suffered a torn ACL early in the season and Jerry Jeudy has missed considerable time due to an ankle injury. Adding another dynamic wide receiver could help the Broncos ease some of those injury worries and not have to rely on undrafted wide receiver Kendall Hinton to take the majority of snaps.
Zay Flowers in one word: fun. The Boston College product has explosive footwork and can play inside or outside, despite only being 5’11”. The Broncos would have yet another great weapon to use on offense. Flowers’ production in college is absolutely nuts, averaging over 16 yards per catch and scoring 17 touchdowns on 122 catches.
