Denver Broncos land Carson Strong in 2022 mock draft

2a. Second round: Carson Strong, QB, Nevada

If the Denver Broncos don’t land a top-flight veteran quarterback this offseason, one of the best alternatives may be to bring back Teddy Bridgewater (or, as I said, another veteran option of some sort) and take a dart throw in this draft class.

Carson Strong is one of the more fascinating guys in the 2022 Draft at the quarterback position with a lot of reasons to like him and some other reasons to be cautious.

The primary reasons to be cautious with a player like Strong? He has a history of knee issues and perhaps that has led to a lack of ideal mobility when you compare him to a lot of the guys having success at the NFL level right now.

I think medicals and the fact that he’s not a dynamic athlete keep him out of round one potentially, and if that’s the case, he’s very much worth a dart throw in round two, because he’s got a cannon for an arm and has produced at a high level for three years, completing over 70 percent of his passes in 2020 and 2021.

Drafting a player like Strong in round two would give you a lottery ticket to evaluate in 2022 and not just sit idly by, but also would not preclude you from getting in the mix for other quarterbacks in the 2023 offseason.
