The Denver Broncos earned a leap in power rankings for week 13 after their win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Some people are back on the Denver Broncos train this week. Following the win against the Los Angeles Chargers, NFL Spin Zone has placed the team in the 14th spot in their 32-team power rankings for week 13.

Just last week, the site put them at the 21st spot. This is a huge jump and for good reason. The AFC West is truly a division that is up for grabs. Behind the Kansas City Chiefs (7-4), every other team in the division is just one game behind at 6-5. While the Denver Broncos are technically in last place due to other scenarios, they could finish next week higher up in the division.

That is if the Chargers (vs Bengals) and Raiders (vs WFT) lose.

The Broncos won in a run-dominating fashion, with Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams combining for 137 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater added ten yards and a touchdown himself on a sideline scramble.

If the team is going to continue its win streak, they’re going to have to keep doing what works. One would think that, with their plethora of wide receivers that throwing the football would be the way to go, but Sunday’s win against the Chargers proved otherwise. Running the football and having a stout defense is crucial for this team.

Denver Broncos in the playoff hunt after crucial division win

The Broncos are on the hunt in terms of making the playoffs this season. They are currently out of it but with some scenarios playing out, could very well be in it. It starts with just winning their own games.

With there being seven playoff teams from now on, the Broncos are currently ranked ninth, behind the Raiders as teams that are out of the playoffs. That’s just one other team. The Chargers are in the 7th spot and currently in the playoffs despite losing to Denver this past Sunday.

Through Week 12 games, the Denver Broncos were 11th in terms of strength of schedule. Their opponents were a combined 33-32-1.

When it’s all said and done, each week will depend on which Denver Broncos team shows up. It was a surprise to see the team beat the Dallas Cowboys a couple of weeks ago.
