Javonte Williams keeps blowing everyone away with big runs
Denver Broncos rookie running back Javonte Williams has at least one highlight-reel run every single week. He had some big ones vs. the Chargers.
The Denver Broncos thought very highly of Javonte Williams coming out of North Carolina in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Every week, he seems to find a way to prove them right for labeling him the RB1 of the 2021 NFL Draft class and comparing him to guys like Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys and Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns.
Javonte Williams seems to do something special in every game the Broncos play, whether they win or lose. Remember him dragging Marlon Humphrey of the Baltimore Ravens (one of the better tackling corners in the league) 20 yards down the field?

It’s not just that Williams breaks tackles — he has made a habit of bursting through scrums of three or four would-be tacklers.
They simply cannot get him down.
Williams immediately has the best missed tackle rate in the entire NFL 11 games into his rookie season.

Coming out of North Carolina, it was obvious that Williams was special in terms of his ability to break through tackles, stay balanced through contact, and keep his legs moving to fight for extra yardage.
While most rookies need to get acclimated to the NFL, the NFL has become very aware that this is a guy you simply cannot take down on initial contact. The Broncos, in the last couple of months, have finally started to get Williams some good-looking opportunities in the passing game, dating back to their close loss against the Cleveland Browns on a Thursday night game.
Williams was targeted seven times in that game and had six receptions, including his first receiving touchdown in the NFL.
Against the Chargers, he had his most explosive play as a receiver yet with a 42-yard catch and run that looked like it would initially go for five or six yards. Williams stayed in bounds very close to the sideline, turned upfield, and just blew by a bunch of Chargers defenders for a huge gain.
Earlier in the game, he’d already taken a very well-timed screen pass for big yardage as well.
As good as this guy is running through scrums, how good can he be with more opportunities in the open field?
The Broncos have already gotten Javonte Williams involved through 11 games to the tune of 144 touches for 761 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns.
Those figures will undoubtedly get a significant boost over the final six games, where Williams is going to be key to the Broncos making a playoff run.
