Drew Lock has come on in relief of Teddy Bridgewater against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12.

Bridgewater was hit by Derwin James in the second quarter of the game and went into the locker room. Lock came on and has helped the Broncos maintain a 14-0 lead halfway through the second quarter.

Before leaving, Bridgewater completed six of 10 passes for 59 yards and he had the game’s first touchdown, running one in from 11 yards out. The Broncos added a second touchdown when Javonte Williams scored one a 9-yard run.

Drew Lock came on in relief for Bridgewater one other time this season, back in Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. He completed 12 of 21 passes for 113 yards in the game and threw an interception while being sacked three times.

As of this writing, Bridgewater is back out of the locker room and standing on the team’s sideline. However, there has yet to be any official word on his status for the remainder of the game.

If Lock plays the rest of the game, it will be his latest attempt to show the organization that he can be an important asset to this team, particularly if the Broncos can hold on to win what is an important game against a divisional rival.

To this point, Lock has completed two of his three pass attempts for just 12 yards. The play-calling has been very run-heavy since Lock entered the contest.

Next. Broncos missed out badly on this player. dark

The defense is playing quite well by keeping the high-powered Chargers off the scoreboard to this point, but if Justin Herbert and the Bolts start to get on track offensively, Pat Shurmur is going to have to open the playbook and stop being so conservative.
