The Rookies Are Ballin’

Though the team as a collective whole has not played up to expectation so far in 2021, members of the 2021 rookie class have impressed so far, and shown Broncos Country why the team is in capable hands with these young players.

Players on the defensive side such as Patrick Surtain II and Caden Sterns have been big acquisitions for the team, and are further proof of the success George Paton has had at command so far with the Denver Broncos. In the majority of his games started this season, Surtain II has allowed less than 40 average receiving yards. Surtain’s quick adjustment to the NFL environment has been especially key with Kyle Fuller’s struggles this season.

Another budding star on the Broncos’ defense has been rookie Caden Sterns, who, though limited in his snaps, has nearly done it all for the Broncos. He has recorded both interceptions and sacks on the season. In fact, with one more interception, Sterns would become the first Broncos rookie since Steve Atwater (1989) to record at least three picks in a rookie season.

Sterns is in quite a prestigious company, to say the least.

For a guy the Broncos snagged in the fifth round, Caden Sterns has had an immediate impact, and his presence is felt whenever he is on the field.

These guys could be the future of the franchise, and if Broncos Country is thankful for anything, it should be the immediate success the young guys have had, and can only continue to build on.
